Drew Barrymore stole everyone’s hearts as Gertie in 1982’s E.T. – The Extra Terrestrial. The god-daughter of Steven Spielberg, Barrymore comes from an esteemed family acting dynasty (her grandfather was John Barrymore). She overcame a childhood of substance abuse and addiction and today is a successful actress, director, producer, author and entrepreneur.
Drew was previously named one of Hollywood’s highest paid actresses. Alongside her lucrative film production and acting career, she has developed a clothing line with Amazon and been an active supporter of many charities including UNICEF, the Red Cross, SPCA, Raising Malawi, St Jude Children’s Research Hospital and the World Food Programme.
Drew married Jewish art consultant, Will Kopelman, in 2012 and happily embraced her husband’s faith. She has openly declared her love of Jewish culture, stating,
“I love it! It’s a beautiful faith and I’m so honoured to be around it. The stories are so beautiful and it’s incredibly enlightening. I’m really happy.”
We love you too, Drew!
