Comedian, actress, writer, producer, TV host – Joan Rivers wore many hats in her 81 years.
Born Joan Alexander Molinsky, she authored 12 best-selling books and 3 LP comedy albums, starred on-stage, and earned both Grammy and Tony Award recognition for her work. Rivers was also hugely philanthropic, and a vocal Zionist and supporter of Israel.
Well known for her hilarious, acerbic commentary, perhaps her most sensible advice of all was this:
‘Never be afraid to laugh at yourself. After all, you could be missing out on the joke of the century.’
