Many months in the works, WIZO NSW was delighted to have the foresight to bring Eve Barlow down under. Eve, the outspoken Zionist and journalist, took Sydney by storm. Hundreds of WIZO members and friends had the privilege to hear Eve speak. To the detriment of her own successful musical journalism career, Eve has spent the past few years fighting antisemitism in person and online. Eve was interviewed at the morning event by the dynamic Lynda Ben Menashe. In the evening, Eve, brilliantly partnering Channel Seven Presenter Jodi Lee, spoke to young members of WIZO in a private home – where for 1.5 hours, the topics were amazing…from the ever outrageous and pro-Palestinian supporter Bella Hadid, to online antisemitism, elevator pitches, social media; the topics were endless, the conversation and questions honest and moving. A real privilege to be part of this year’s campaign, in support of Safety Net in Israel.
Safety Net was created to help women leave the cycle of abuse, to find independence and stay safe and strong.
It also offers women occupational rehabilitation towards the goal of finding and maintaining a job, which is key to their financial independence. This includes training to ensure that women can work in today’s digital world.
As you read this, hundreds of women and children – from all communities, religious affiliations and cultural backgrounds rely on Safety Net to improve their lives and leave the abuse, fear and isolation they have experienced in the past.

Huge thanks to CSG for their ongoing support and commitment to WIZO and the broader community, and to Community Health Support for providing medical coverage at our major campaign event last week.
