Today was a day of “revelation” at WIZO Hadassim

Today was a day of “revelation” at WIZO Hadassim. You wouldn’t guess what was uncovered.

A few months ago, we received big news: A chapter on WIZO will be included in the 9th grade history syllabus.  This is a big step for our organization, and now Israel’s future generations will also learn about WIZO’s important role in the Zionist Enterprise. Today, the syllabus was presented to us. The topics of study will include the history of WIZO, the organization’s contribution to the building of the Jewish State, the various social services initiated and the role of the Zionist women’s organizations in the general narrative of pre-state Israel.

In doing so, historical justice has been done and this will  perpetuate our heritage – one that gives us strength even today.  Only by knowing our past can we look forward to the next 100 years with confidence and understand our place and role in this historical timeline. As I delve deeper into the history of those  giants who are embedded in the land, I realize how much responsibility rests on our shoulders to maintain this enterprise called WIZO, and the supreme enterprise which is the State of Israel.

It was a wonderful day today, filled with great pride that all this has happened on our watch.
