nahalal student wins national biotech olympics

We are deeply proud to share the news that Maya Etzion, a 12th grade student in WIZO Nahalal, is this year’s champion of the prestigious annual  Technion Biotechnology Olympics.

Competing with hundreds of contestants from the best high schools around Israel, Maya earned her gold medal with an outstanding research paper based on experiments she did in genetic engineering, which she presented before a jury of top scientists of the Technion – Israel Institute of Technology, one of the world’s top universities.

All of us here in WIZO, and of course in WIZO Nahalal, are proud of you, Mia, and wish you great success in your future!

Congratulations also to the entire Nahalal Biotech team, Ya’arit Friedman, Shiri Rabinowitz, Livnat Erez and Maayan Eisenstein and to the librarian Ayelet Ben Zion.
