Israeli Youth Declare: I Am Here

In December, WIZO launched the “I am Here” project to spark public dialogue with and about teens during the war, focusing on growth from adversity. Believing in Israeli youth as a vital force for societal recovery, the project emphasized resilience, hope, and a commitment to change.
“Through this project, we aimed to empower teens to process their experiences, recognize their strengths, and see their role in the recovery and growth of Israeli society,” said Jessica Nagid, Head of Community Welfare at WIZO’s Education Division.
A New Year’s Message
January has arrived and excitement is building for the MOR week in Israel. After canceling the in-person meeting last year due to the war, this month we will have the privilege of hosting you here.
Woman of WIZO
As we start 2025, we honor Jacqueline Sefami, President of WIZO Mexico as our WOW: Woman of WIZO. Jacqueline shared: “Since joining WIZO, I have learned so much and met wonderful people. Regardless of age, we all speak the same language and share the same goal: helping others.”
Meeting of Reps 2025
We are thrilled to be welcoming representatives from our WIZO federations around the world to Israel this month for our annual MOR. This year’s theme is “Together We Rise,” and we are anticipating an uplifting experience!

Federation Focus: Germany
2024 was a year full of dedication, community, and unforgettable events. From festive galas to bazaars and Purim celebrations, WIZO Germany has shown what they can achieve, even during such a difficult year. A special highlight was the opening of the Prof. Heuss Campus at WIZO Hadassim in June, featuring a Therapy and Emergency Center and the renovation of four dormitories for girls in need. Small Miracles
in a Complex Reality
The past year has been especially challenging for all of us, and the branches of WIZO Israel were exposed to real threats. Several incidents occurred where missiles made impact and rocket debris landed just a short distance from our branches:
- Near the Bigudit in Savion, a missile landed a few meters away
- In Kiryat Yam, a rocket landed only four houses away from our branch (photo below)
- In Kiryat Shmona, a missile fell right in front of the branch
In each of these cases, our great fortune was that no one was injured, and there was almost no damage.
As we celebrate the miracle of Chanukah, we see these incidents as our own small miracles within the larger complexity of our reality. We’re so grateful that despite the challenging circumstances, the volunteers of WIZO Israel only increased their efforts for the community through various resilience projects.
2024 in 60 seconds!
