Over 100 people attended WIZO’s Sponsor a Child in Israel 2018 Luncheon, which was held in a glorious home in Point Piper.
New WIZO NSW President Diane Symonds talked about the launch of the cup campaign where 30,000 custom made cups were distributed to 22 coffee shops in the Eastern Suburbs and the North Shore. WIZO has raised awareness of the fact that there are over 800,000 children in Israel living below the poverty line. That means that every day, ONE THIRD of Israeli children go without adequate food, shelter, education and other basic needs.
Keynote speaker Gregor Collins shared his profound relationship with 92 year old Holocaust refugee, Maria Altmann. Maria was instrumental in having the Klimt painting ‘Woman in Gold’ removed from the hands of the Austrian Government after WWII.
