This year WIZO celebrates its Centenary year.
That means 100 years of vital work supporting women, children and families in Israel. However, WIZO will not be celebrating this incredible milestone in the usual way. Due to the global pandemic we find ourselves in, there will be no gala event to raise much-needed funds for our projects in Israel.
Right now this need is more urgent than ever.
COVID-19 is causing a major crisis in Israel. The rising number of cases is plummeting the country back into lockdown and its citizens are suffering. Unemployment levels are now at 25%. Thousands of businesses have been closed. Families have become vulnerable and many rely on WIZO Day Care Centres to top up supplies. Many Israelis have not received any financial support since the first lockdown.
Something must be done. So we hope that as WIZO turns 100, we can turn to you.
WIZO is Israel’s largest welfare partner and we need your help to ease the burden of those affected by Covid-19. We can make a difference now.
Please support us on WIZO’s 100th Birthday as we continue to be 100% committed to over 3 million Israelis in need.
All donations over $2 are tax deductible
WIZO IS 100%COMMITTED TO DISADVANTAGED YOUTH
WIZO Ahuzat Yeladim is more than just a school – it’s a home. A therapeutic and post-hospitalization residential school, Ahuzat is the last resort for these young people who have suffered abuse, rejection and neglect.
Home to 120 students, Ahuzat’s needs are continuously evolving. From individual learning programs and specific therapies for the children to recreational equipment and now health supplies due to COVID-19, Ahuzat requires immediate support to offer the care to these children that they deserve.
WIZO IS 100% COMMITTED TO SUPPORTING AT-RISK WOMEN AND GIRLS
Empowering and keeping women safe is an integral part of WIZO’s philosophy. That’s why Makom Balev, translated to ‘place in the heart’ was founded. This vital facility takes many young women off the streets and away from dangerous situations and gives them a chance to change their lives.
Home for up to 50 young women, Makom Balev needs support from WIZO women in Australia to ensure it continues to provide counselling, rehabilitation, medical care and hot nutritious meals to these at-risk women.
WIZO IS 100% COMMITTED TO SUPPORTING STRUGGLING FAMILIES
One of Tel Aviv’s most popular day care centres, The Raya Jaglom Day Care Centre cares for over 100 children aged between 6 months to 4 years old, most of whom have suffered from neglect and abuse.
The Centre also creates a support system model that helps parents develop skills to take care of their children at home and needs your support to ensure this facility remains open, especially during Covid-19.
