When Tony and Margaret Abbott visited Israel last week, Australian Ambassador Dave Sharma, made a suggestion to Esther Mor, World WIZO President, that Mrs Abbott be taken to a WIZO Day Care Centre. Margaret Abbott runs a community-based non-profit child care centre in Sydney that employs ten staff and cares for children from around 100 families.
Esther Mor chose the Raya Jaglom Multipurpose Day Care Centre in Tel Aviv, sponsored by WIZO Australia. Showing an impressive knowledge of WIZO’s activities, this tall, warm and caring lady was like a magnet for the toddlers and she was very comfortable interacting with them.
Mrs Abbott recognized the names of people she is acquainted with in Sydney on various plaques at the Day Care Centre and said she would gladly update them on how inspiring her time at the Raya Jaglom Multipurpose Day Care Centre had been.
Mrs Abbott’s visit proved that on topics such as education, women from all over the world share similar concepts and one goal – to ensure that every child, no matter what their background or socio-economic situation, receives an equal and good-quality education.
